Photofacial Treatment

Have you ever gone to your dermatologist about skin problems? Do you suffer from fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, large pores, sun spots, acne scars, or any other skin issue? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, please allow us your valued attention.

We introduce you to a fairly new treatment or technique currently being used to treat the above skin problems. This treatment is known as Photofacial Treatment or Photorejuvenation. For this treatment, a laser hand tool is used during the treatment process that sends high intensity pulses of broadband light through deep parts of the skin without damaging the surface of the skin. The process usually lasts for approximately thirty minutes and is scheduled over a three week interval. Generally, five to eight treatments are needed for the best results to occur, however, after the first treatment skin rejuvenation is evident. It is difficult to describe the feeling of the procedure, but some have likened it to a snapped rubber band on the skin. Keep in mind the procedure is very short and any pain that may occur is short lived and can easily be diminished or eliminated by using over the counter pain medications.

Photofacial Treatment is a non invasive procedure, thus there are minimal side effects. Some side effects that may occur after the process takes place are: Temporary redness, swelling, blistering, or bruising. These possible temporary side effects is a small component to endure when receiving long-lasting positive skin results. Additional treatments may or may not be needed within the next two to three years after the procedure has been completed. There is no particular recovery time for this procedure, as any redness that occurs can easily be covered until the redness has fully disappeared.

The pricing for this procedure varies from a low of $400 to a high of $800 with the average running price being around $475. Keep in mind this treatment is considered cosmetic and will not be covered by insurance. Photofacial treatment is definitely a great non-surgical alternative for skin issues. The procedure is short and the effects are long-lasting. If you are hesitant about this procedure, consult your dermatologist or physician with your questions or concerns.
